This is Luna Revs.

Imagine two points at the top of an unformed circle, allow those points to travel in opposite directions along the perimeter of this invisible circle, meeting at the bottom, but continuing past each other back to the beginning to form the circle. The circle represents the trajectory of the music in Luna Revs, maybe the music forms a moon or a star in our imagination, or are satellites orbiting our thoughts for the rest of the day.

Luna Revs vol 1 is the first in a series of orbiting releases planned for 2022. Part 1, presented here was written at the same time as part 2, which will come next, as two 30 minute, long-form tracks. Both tracks were then split at around the halfway mark to make four 15 minutes or so pieces.

The first half of each 30 minute track is released here as Luna Revs vol 1 - Night Object, and both second halves will be released as vol 2. Two beginnings and two endings, travelling in opposite directions and meeting to form a circle or moon.

The core of the tracks will remain improvised, randomised and free-form with compositional shaping added in post production..

The improvisational nature of the song writing on this release, means that all the immediate ideas, the impetus to start creating, are articulated within the first 10 minutes or so of a 30 minute piece. I wanted to collect those ideas here and put them together as a single release.

The plan is to do the same with two more pieces, so four albums in total.
